Students will construct and matching clay candleholder set to be used for taper candles. The candleholders will be constructed using the coil building process, and students will have the option of making their clay coil candleholders short or tall in height. (see images) When complete, students will select their glaze colors, and the pieces will be glazed for them after being bisque fired. Glaze color choices are Merlot, Rustic Blue, or Caramel. Snacks will also be served that day!
No prior experience is necessary, all levels are welcome. All workshops are taught in my at home studio in Simpsonville and are small group for personal attention.
After pieces are completed, they will need to be dried and fire in the kiln. **Pick up of completed glazed fired pieces will be ready approximately two weeks after the workshop.** Price includes instruction, ceramic tools, clay, glazes, and kiln firing fees. Workshops are all small group, 6 participants. When fully complete, pieces are both food and dishwasher safe.
Class are taught in my studio at Whitehall Plantation in Simpsonville, exact address will be e mailed upon enrollment. Adults and kids over 14 are welcome to join.
