Artist and educator

I discovered the art of Ceramics in college as I leaped toward defining myself as a true artist. Early in my life, I understood art as solely drawing and painting, and closed the chapter on it. Then one day when registering for my junior year classes the only class available in the criteria I needed was ceramics. I was confused, I couldn’t take ceramics! I was a drawing and painting person! People say in life what’s meant to be will find its way to you. That’s my love story with three-dimensional art. I took that introductory Ceramics class and never looked back. The world told me that’s where I should be, and I couldn’t believe how natural some of it came to me.

As an educator, I truly believe and have a passion for teaching others. I’ve been an educator for over twenty years, and have worked in the public school sector, and believe a good teacher can make anyone successful and feel inspired to create.

As a working artist, I make pottery in collections by what inspires and influences me. My current pottery collection is called the Nostalgia collection. I currently have a 90’s and 80’s nostalgia pieces all inspired by my journey through the 1980’s and 1990’s, and how I saw that translate onto the clay surface. These pieces are fully handmade, and hand-painted (glazed), and for sale at my shop online page. I will be adding a 2000’s line of pottery to my collection soon!
